Tijger

Short Film, 1994, 15 min.

Short youth film without words about a four-year-old boy who is in danger of passing the night without sleep because his absent-minded mother left his dearly-beloved furry tiger unattended half way along the Afsluitdijk, the causeway between Holland and Friesland. The story of the lost cuddly toy is told from the perspective of nine-year-old Max. His voice-over provides an ironic commentary on what he sees as the strange behaviour of the tidy adults and his inconsolable little brother. Tiger is the Dutch contribution to an international series of youth films without dialogue, made every year under the auspices of the European Broadcasting Union.
